House of Friend is another house in the True Friends community, which is just across the street from Baan Ob Un Jai. House of Friend has various purposes, basicly it is for discipleship , training, and create opportunities to make good contributions to society, which is one of the important process in creating public mind and cultivating the values of development
After care program
As members complete their rehabilitation at Baan Ob Un Jai , they transition to the House of Friends while they prepare to live independently. Qualified staff provide counsel in areas such as education, career goals, relationship and finances.
Aftercare members will begin to face the real life outside, whether they go out for working or studying. House of Friends provides a home community for them, they go out in the daytime and return home in the evening , everyone in the house have dinner together, do activities, take care of the house and share their hearts on how they experience life. Staffs will give advice in area that is needed and help them to process things. The goal is to train them how to choose a quality life and never go back to addiction again.
The duration of the Aftercare program is approximately 1 year.
Mission team
Mission team – to serve and contribute to the society. This activity from House of Friends is to prepare the team and sent out to the countryside ,to people groups or organizations that we have net work with. Usually we go to the underprivileged with cloth and food and stuffs. We can also help repairing things, and we do children program that is both fun and educational.
Our community members are very interested in this activity. They will be challenged in some new area and get to see their hidden potential. Most of them learn that they are valuable and can help others. This can create a solid foundation for their self-confidence, and further self-development.
Training
We offer seminars to promote community involvement . We encourage biblical value on loving one another and conducting good deeds to the society. Also we do trainings to enhance characters and life skills. The training will be organized on suitable occasions, on line ,on site and sometime partner with other organizations.
Volunteer
The House of Friends frequently hosts international volunteers , short-term and long-term, as individuals and as a team.
We usually take volunteers that are recommended by institutes or organizations that we know and trust.
We encourage the exchange and learning in a cross-cultural setting , we believe this will enlarge the perspectives and experiences of both volunteers and members of True Friend community.
